President's Message - Valuing Our Members

Karen_Presidents_Message.jpgThis is YOUR FaithLife Financial and as you move through different stages of life, it is our goal to be responsive to your changing financial needs. Over the past months, we have been on a journey to learn more about our Members and our future Members. This prompted us to engage a research firm that has delivered some key findings - leading us toward improvements in our communications and our services to you.

The research indicated that the majority of people who would most likely become Members in the future are active Christians, from all denominations. They share many common beliefs and values around the "good news" of the Bible. They have a strong belief in the Word of God and they believe in forgiveness through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

The research showed that many of our current and future Members hold traditional values, which include significant family bonds and a strong sense of Canadian identity. There are many specific characteristics that vary by region and denomination, but we are united in our Christian faith. Through research, we have also learned that life insurance ownership in Canada is at its lowest level in 30 years - with only 68 percent of households having any life insurance at all compared to 79 percent seven years ago. More than 6 million Canadian households agree they need more life insurance. The recent decline can be attributed to:

  • Families giving low priority and procrastinating to purchase because they don't understand life insurance
  • Increased willingness to rely on group coverage from employers
  • A misconception that life insurance is not affordable
The number of Canadians struggling with debt and financial uncertainty is staggering. But together we can change these statistics. Our Financial Representatives come alongside Members and congregations to strengthen their families, their churches and their communities with financial counsel that helps them build financial security.

In Proverbs 15:22 we read that, "Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed." FaithLife Financial has embedded Christian values in the way that we deliver our products and services through Financial Representatives who are here to help Members succeed.

NEW APPROACH TO MEMBER SATISFACTION SURVEY

In order to learn more about satisfaction among Members, we are taking a new approach to gather feedback about the experience they have with our Financial Representatives, financial products, benevolent programs, head office communications and more. In the past, the Member Satisfaction Survey has been conducted by telephone. Moving forward, we would like to make this process easier for you through an online Member Insight Survey . Over the coming months, we will be asking Members to give us their email addresses. The details are outlined on page 3 of our most recent Connections magazine.

The combination of research we have completed and what we learn from our online Member Insight Survey will help us refine our strategies to give Members what they need to protect their family's future and to reach their financial goals. Together, we are building vibrant communities of people living by Christian financial principles - growing in stewardship, compassion and generosity. Please join the conversation by sending us your email address today!
