President's Message - Protecting Your Financial Future

It has been a privilege to serve the Members of FaithLife
Financial over the last 25 years, a milestone I celebrated in
February. Over all these years, the urgency for Members to
protect their financial futures with a written financial plan
has only increased.

Recent research conducted by the Life Insurance Marketing Research Association (LIMRA), indicates that life insurance ownership in Canada is at its lowest level in 30 years. Only 68% of households have any life insurance at all compared to 79% seven years ago. This decline means that families are not protected against the eventuality of death and the results could be devastating.

I began my career with FaithLife Financial as a Financial Representative. I'll never forget the sadness and the relief I felt when delivering a death benefit cheque to a family who had lost a loved one. On the drive home, I remember feeling thankful that this family had worked with me to plan for the unexpected, which now allowed them the time needed to grieve and plan for the months and years ahead.

It's one thing to sell people life insurance - it's another to show them how the money will protect their family's financial future. In this issue, you will read Laurie Huck's Member story. Her family's financial advisor delivered a death benefit cheque that literally changed the trajectory of their lives for generations.

Similarly, your Financial Representative will guide you on a financial journey through life insurance, critical illness & disability insurance, saving, investing, and more. Each life stage brings different needs and all along the way the goal is for you to be able to answer the following questions with confidence:

. What would happen to my family in the event of a primary income suddenly ending due to death, illness or disability?

. Would my family continue to have the resources to stay in the same home and community?

. Could my children get the education that is becoming increasingly important so they can protect their financial futures one day?

. Have I considered the need for a greater retirement nest egg - given the increasing life span of so many Canadians?

In Proverbs 15:22 we read, "Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed." FaithLife Financial has embedded Christian values in the way that we deliver our products and our services through Financial Representatives who are here to help you make wise financial decisions - encouraging you to live more generously now, while working with you to protect your financial future for the long run.
